Michael Ahiaklo
Chief Executive Officer & Founder, State of Gh Affairs
Michael Ahiaklo is a Ghanaian media entrepreneur, digital content creator and political and current affairs commentator, and the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of State of Gh Affairs (SOGA), an emerging Ghanaian digital media platform focused on news, public affairs, politics, community stories and contemporary Ghanaian society.
Driven by a strong interest in journalism, digital storytelling and the dynamics of public life, Ahiaklo has positioned State of Gh Affairs as a platform designed to bring audiences closer to the issues, people and institutions shaping Ghana. Under his leadership, the platform combines timely news coverage with political commentary, exclusive content, human-interest stories and community-focused reporting.
His approach to media reflects the changing relationship between journalism, technology and audiences. Through digital-first storytelling, State of Gh Affairs seeks not only to report events but also to create spaces where public conversations can take place, perspectives can be examined and stories that might otherwise receive limited attention can reach a wider audience.
Ahiaklo's work sits at the intersection of media entrepreneurship, digital communication and public affairs, with State of Gh Affairs serving as his principal platform for engaging with Ghana's political landscape, governance, development, culture, personalities and everyday social realities.
As Founder and CEO, he provides the strategic and editorial direction of the platform, overseeing its growth as it seeks to establish a distinctive voice within Ghana's increasingly competitive digital media environment.
His broader vision is centred on building a media platform that is relevant, accessible and closely connected to its audience—one capable of moving beyond headlines to explore the people, ideas and events behind the news.
